Apple to Take Center Stage
Steve Jobs, the visionary CEO of Apple, is set to turn the computer world upside down again. Reports have been circulating on the internet that Jobs will unveil a lower priced IMac at the MacWorld convention this month. The IPod, which has seen phenomenal success, is seen by many as the stepping stone for PC users to convert to Mac systems. Apple sold 4 million IPods in the 4th quarter of 2004, which is almost all the IPods sold to date. The trend is picking up pace, and Apple has the marketing savvy to capture the bulk of the profits associated with it. If it can also increase its market share among computer users its profits should soar. We will have to wait out 2005 to see how this whole thing plays out.
