Most Lucrative College Degrees

A survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers has released information on what it determines to be the most lucrative college degrees. The following is that list:



As the publisher of the Wiser Money blog, I am a big believer in education, however, there remains the fatal flaw in American education. We are constantly spoon fed the idea of getting an education and landing a good job. Our parents, secondary education teachers, and many others continue to promote this wonderfully American ideal. The hard line facts certainly prove that the more education you have, generally the greater earning power you posses. What these facts don't tell you is that greatest earners in American society are by far the entrepreneurs. The job creators, the idea generators and visionaries behind the American business success.

This is the fatal flaw of American education. It fails to teach entrepreneurism. Obviously the creativity behind an entrepreneur cannot be taught, however, the underlying fundamentals of creating a business success could be taught, and that alone would probably create more jobs and more wealth than all the other education combined. In the opinion of this college graduate, that would have been the most useful class of all.
