Google's St. Valentine's Day Massacre
On February 14, 2005 an additional 176 million shares of Google will come available on the open market. This is when the company's complex stock lockup for shares owned by employees will be available for sale. As with any supply and demand model if supply starts to outstrip demand then the price will drop. It appears to be only inevitable the majority of those shares will put on the auction block, thus reducing the overall price of Google's stock. For those who are holding Google stock with a sizable paper gain, now may be the time to sell, while you can still reap big profits.
